Night Singing

I have a bird coming to my backyard and singing every night for the past couple of weeks. It starts to croon around 11:00 pm. It is lovely to hear and I find it a blissful strangeness to have a dark sky, lit only be the waxing moon, and then to hear a bird singing. I searched online and listened to the songs and I think it may be a Northern Mockingbird. They are known to sing at night, especially when seeking to attract a mate. I worry for his life as I have two cats who hunt at night, bird is definitely on the menu. And then I am also concerned for the souls of my cats as it is "a sin to kill a mockingbird." If you know what bird this could be I welcome your ideas.

  1. I agree - it is likely the Northern Mockingbird. Here is a website all about the bird.
